Reedpaw shuffled her paws impatiently. She wanted to get started training as soon as possible to make up some of her missed days and to learn new warrior techniques.

Darkdream walked up. "Well, Reedpaw?" he asked gently. "What would you like to learn first?" The dark warrior sat and began grooming his tail as he waited for her answer.

Darkdream paused in mid-lick. "Hmmm..... Hunting? What creature would you like to hunt? You see, there is a large difference between hunting a rabbit and hunting a mouse." He returned to licking, this time on his shoulder.

Reedpaw dropped into a crouch and stalked across the ground, twitching her tail. She made almost no sound at all, and she straightened up proudly. "How was that?" she asked. "Did I do well?"

Reedpaw bounced up and down with excitement. "Got it!" She quickly set to work scenting out a rabbit and picked up the trail. She padded lightly after the tempting prey-scent, remembering what her mentor had told her.

She followed the prey-scent until she spotted it rabbit. It was snuffling on the ground, munching the tender grass that it had found. Reedpaw held her breath and waited until it seemed unwary and then she sprang. The rabbit started to scramble away, and with a yowl of frustration, Reedpaw launched herslef at it and dug her claws in to it's hindquarters. Reedpaw finished it off quickly and sat down, panting. 'That was a close one!' she thought.
